- FlyLikeMike Foundation Inc. was founded in June 2025 and is a nonprofit organization (501(c)(3) (Recorded with Utah 7/11/2025) committed to honoring the memory of loved ones lost to suicide, especially children and families impacted by such loss. Through advocacy, education, and direct support, we strive to promote mental wellness, build resilience, and create meaningful connections in the face of grief.
Charter of FlyLikeMike Foundation Inc.
Article I - Name
In Honor of Michael Pearson, The name of this organization shall be FlyLikeMike Foundation Inc.
Article II - In Loving Memory
FlyLikeMike Foundation Inc. was created in loving memory of Michael Pearson, who died by suicide on February 23, 2024. This foundation honors his spirit, his life, and the impact he had—and continues to have—on those who love him. In his name, we work to bring light, hope, and healing to others affected by suicide loss.
Article III - Purpose
The purpose of FlyLikeMike Foundation Inc. is to provide compassionate support for children and families who have experienced the loss of a parent or sibling to suicide, and to contribute meaningfully to the prevention of suicide through awareness, education, and community-based action.
Article IV - Mission Statement
Our mission is to carry forward Michael’s legacy by supporting grieving families, empowering youth & men through mental health education, and promoting hope in the face of despair. We exist to remind those affected that they are not alone.
Article V - Core Activities
- To achieve our mission, FlyLikeMike Foundation Inc. may engage in the following activities:
- 1. Fundraising & Awareness Events
- Organize community-focused events such as concerts, merchandise (“swag”) campaigns, and other creative fundraising initiatives to raise awareness and funds for our programs.
- 2. Scholarships for Bereaved Children
- Provide financial support for educational opportunities for children who have lost a parent or sibling to suicide.
- 3. Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Workshops
- Facilitate or fund workshops aimed at youth, families, educators, and communities to encourage mental wellness and reduce stigma.
- 4. Immediate Response Kits for Grieving Families
- Develop and distribute care packages to families immediately following the death of a loved one by suicide, including comforting, symbolic items such as a “pocket heart stone” and other supportive materials. Click here to see the FlyLikeMike HeartBox
- 5. Charitable Giving to Aligned Organizations
- Provide financial support to trusted mental health and suicide prevention organizations whose missions align with ours.
Article VI -NonProfit Nature
1. This corporation is not organized for the private gain of any person.2. No part of the net earnings of the corporation shall inure to the benefit of any director, officer, or private individual.3. No substantial part of the activities of the corporation shall involve lobbying or attempting to influence legislation, and the corporation shall not participate in or intervene in any political campaign.
Article VII - Governance
- 1. The Foundation shall be governed by a Board of Directors. 2. The Board shall oversee fiduciary responsibilities, approve strategic direction, and ensure adherence to the Foundation’s mission and compliance with applicable laws.
